oxfordcommaloveaffair:

Guys, this is a really good friend of mine who needs my help. Her local dentist is having a contest for a $10,000 smile makeover that would absolutely change her life. Right now she’s neck and neck with her own step brother, so they’re fishing for votes from the same pool of friends and family, so I’m trying to get her votes and shares from random kind people who can just take a sec to help her out.

Just go to https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=134653043250908&_rdr
and “like” the Jacob D Young DDS PC Belton Raymore Dentist fb page, then “like” Kelsey’s picture to vote, it’ll only take a minute. Here is her entry essay:

"When my mother discovered this contest and called me I thought “oh my
goodness this could be all of my prayers come true.” My name is Kelsey
Taylor and I am 23 years old. I’ve grown up and lived in Raymore, Missouri
all of my life. I’ve often read that the smile is the first thing a person
notices about you and the one thing that will leave a lasting impression in
a person’s mind after meeting you. So, I’ve wondered countless times how I
could possibly leave a lasting and positive impression in anyone’s mind
when my smile is broken. A degenerative gum disorder runs in my family and
when that became coupled with the severe depression that I battled in my
teen years my teeth came close to complete ruin without care. Since I’ve
gotten my life on track and learned to be a responsible and hardworking
adult my biggest setback has been my teeth. The decay on the top and bottom
rows in my front teeth is glaring and humiliating. At every job interview I
have had and each first date I have gone on the only thought I have in my
mind is “what will they think of my teeth? What will they think of me when
they see my smile?” This has caused such overbearing anxiety that there
have been countless social functions and opportunities that I have turned
down out of sheer embarrassment. I have taught myself to cover my mouth
when I laugh and how to talk while barely parting my lips. I cannot laugh
with full abandon with my friends or smile with my full happiness in family
photos. I am currently working two jobs and my main goal has been only to
save money to fix my teeth. Unfortunately with the monthly bills I pay and
the large cost it would be to even get the work started I’m afraid the
reality of the situation is that it would be impossible to fix before the
next five years of saving. So, I ask you, please, choose me as one of the
top five entries into your amazing contest. Please, help me to not live out
my twenties without a smile on my face or the confidence I know that you
could give me. I would do anything for this opportunity. This smile make
over could mean the world to me. With a new smile I would have the
confidence to go out and achieve the things I know that I am capable of and
the happiness to be able to smile whenever I feel the urge. It would give
me the possibility to show the happy, energetic, and confident person that
I have hiding beneath my broken smile. That to me, is the biggest dream I
have in life right now.

Thank you so much for this opportunity.

Sincerely,

Kelsey”

Tell me a tale so beautiful that the stars will strain to hear;
The song you feared to end is just beginning.
So sing me a city of wishes and fire,
Sing me a traveling song,
I will give you worlds of wonder, and a feather cloak to keep you warm

This is Jazmyn Batts. She had a bus ticket home from Hot Springs to Memphis that she never used. She’s been missing since June 8, 2014. It’s possible that she is in danger.
Have you seen her? Please, please, please reblog. The more people who reblog, the more likely it is that she’ll be found.
And if you see her or have had contact with her, please call one of the above numbers. Thanks.

Ask Me Anything - SJ Tucker

It’s a strange place to be when you cannot spread your wings,
but even bound as we are, we can do all sorts of things!
So don’t you dare be afraid. Just you hold your head up high.
Never mind the ones who tell you you’re too big and bold and bright!
